About HostCraft
HostCraft started with a simple frustration: setting up a Minecraft server for friends took far too long. You had to find the right server file, install the right version of Java, edit config files by hand, write a start script, then work out port forwarding, all before anyone could even join.
HostCraft does all of that for you. A short wizard asks what you want: the version, the world and who's playing. The app then downloads the server and a private copy of Java and sets everything up in one folder. After that it's one big Start button, a dashboard showing who's online, and plain-English help for getting friends connected.
Who makes it
HostCraft is made by Benas, an independent developer based in the United Kingdom. It isn't a big company, just someone who plays Minecraft with friends and wanted hosting to be easy.
How it stays free
Every feature in HostCraft is free for everyone. It's paid for by:
- a few small, clearly labelled ads in the app and on this website;
- supporters on Ko-fi, who get HostCraft ad-free forever for a one-off £5;
- sponsors and partners, such as Minecraft hosting companies, who appear as labelled sponsored offers.
Some links to hosting companies are affiliate links: if you buy through them, HostCraft may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only feature services we'd recommend to our own users.
Our principles
- No accounts and no tracking. You never sign up to use HostCraft. See our privacy policy.
- Nothing locked behind a paywall. Paying only removes ads.
- Your server, your files. Everything lives in a normal folder on your PC that you can back up, move or run without the app.
